Saikat is among a handful of brand communications & digital content specialists who are behind one of the biggest financial revolutions in the history of Independent India - digital payments & financial services.
In an eclectic career spanning Business Journalism, Corporate Communications & Marketing Communications, the 22-year-old Saikat was the youngest in the three-member crack team that launched the world's largest business news portal, Business Insider in India. He single-handedly shouldered content strategy for Paytm's unprecedented Demonetisation PR efforts at age 23. At 25, he was the content brain for PR at Times Internet, one of the largest digital ecosystems in APAC with over 35 leading brands. At 28, he joined PayU Global as a digital communications & content expert where he will handle product & tech product PR & brand positioning for one of the largest fintech ecosystems in the world spanning 50+ emerging markets around the world.
In my earlier role at Times Internet, I advise 35 leading brands including Gaana, MX Player, ETMONEY, Dineout and many more in ways to build and manage their reputation with digital-first communication.
I have personally helped leading digital entreprenuers such as India's youngest billionaire, Mr. Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Times Internet CEO Mr. Gautam Sinha, Times Internet Vice Chairman Mr. Satyan Gajwani, MX Player CEO Karan Bedi, Dineout Founder-CEO Mr. Ankit Malhotra among others build thought leadership.
Content & Creative Strategy
Two months into my first role in a startup, we faced an unprecedented PR crisis during Demonetization. I rallied a bunch of young designers to work with me and create informative and visual content that struck a chord with over 50 Mn new users and allowed Paytm to ride the surge in traffic.
My PR content has impacted one-third of India pays in just two years. In a country that houses one of the most unbanked individuals across the developing world, my work has resonated with everyone from the college-goer to the vegetable vendor, and has accelerated the pace of financial inclusion.
Under my leadership, the Paytm Blog registered 500X surge in traffic within six months and won the ‘Best use of Blogs’ Award at IDMA 2017. It has since become an official case study in the country’s only dedicated post-graduate PR College – the School of Communications and Reputation, Mumbai.
My content and reputation advisory efforts helped safeguard Dineout from the infamous #Logout crisis in the country's foodtech sector.
